The Victoria Brass Band is a volunteer musical organization whose members (aged 55 years and up) all enjoy performing music arranged for brass band. We perform primarily at seniors' homes and for special events, along with a few public concerts. Standard instrumentation includes cornet, flugel horn, trombone, alto horn, euphonium, baritone, E–flat and B–flat tuba.
The Victoria Brass Band rehearses Monday afternoons from 1:30 to 3:00 pm at the Maplewood Gospel Hall.
NEW PLAYERS ARE WELCOME AND NEEDED! Our band has two mandates: the first is to perform for seniors living in care homes, seniors’ centres and retirement residences, and the second is to provide a place for seniors to play their instruments. Our repertoire includes a wide variety of well-known and loved songs. We rehearse Mondays from 1:30 to 3:00 in the Maplewood area of Victoria and most of our performances are scheduled to coincide with our rehearsal times. If you want another band to play in, or are tempted to dust off your instrument and return to music making, please contact us!
The Victoria Brass Band thanks the Westshore Community Concert Band for hosting this website.
